Style Guide for
Beach Photography

Beach Conditions

Within an hour of sunset or sunrise, the white sand will glow a hint of pink and the water will become a beautiful turquoise. Often the sky will reflect blue and pink also! The closer we are to actual sunrise or sunset, the calmer the winds usually become. Please keep this in mind when selecting clothing and accessories for your beach session with me!

Clothing

Light colors with simple coordinating patterns look best
All white gives a clean look
White and Khaki gives a classic look
Avoid graphic t-shirts for a timeless look

Accessories

Simple jewelry is a nice touch
Shoes are optional and personal preference
Hats can give a beachy feel
Baseball caps will often create a dark shadow above the eyes
Watches and condo wrist bands are a personal preference but will not be edited out

Hair

The wind and the very high humidity often present a challenge for those with long hair!

Barrettes will help with longer hair
Hairspray will help tame the fly aways
